SSN: How did you discover Supernatural?
Jodi: I found it by accident on Netflix back in January of this year. I had just lost my job, was depressed as heck and needed to find something to help me get through a very hard time. I had been working in the financial industry for over 20 years, but have a degree in art.
SSN: What is your favorite Supernatural episode and why?
Jodi: Ok, HARD QUESTION, lol! I can narrow it down to two – a lighthearted episode and an intense one. Mystery Spot – I think that’s a personal favorite of many, I believe. I can never hear Asia the same way again. The writing is brilliant. The way the writers cleverly tie in Sam’s lesson to be learned at the end was done so smoothly. My favorite intense episode is probably Death’s Door. The way Sam and Dean deal with what’s happening to Bobby – heart wrenching. Bobby’s expression when he said his last word to the boys – Jim Beaver needs to get an Emmy. Seriously.
SSN: What is your least favorite Supernatural episode and why?
Jodi: It doesn’t exist, lol! I guess the one episode I could live without would be All Dogs go to Heaven. I find it hard to watch any of the episodes with Samuel, too. I find it heartbreaking how he betrayed his grandsons.
SSN: Who is your favorite villain?
Jodi: CROWLEY. He is such an interesting character. His quips are priceless.
SSN: How do you promote Supernatural?
Jodi: My whole new career is based on Supernatural!! I’ve always designed jewelry and when I lost my job earlier this year I tried to make it a full time thing. It really wasn’t going too well. I have four kids and a sick husband, so I really needed to find other options. I found out there was going to be a Salute to Supernatural Con in Whippany, NJ, which wasn’t far from me. I took a gamble and was a vendor there.
I was always very shy about exploring my Wiccan beliefs through my jewelry, but decided that I’d go full throttle for the convention. The show has really inspired my creativity. Now I use so much pagan and Wiccan symbology in my pieces, and found new things to explore, like the Enochian alphabet, for example. Speaking of Enochian, MISHA COLLINS checked out my jewelry at the con!! Creation Entertainment has invited me to vend at all of their upcoming SPN cons! Thanks to SPN, I have a new career! Another way of promoting is that I also follow all of the actors that accounts on Twitter and retweet away, post to FB, and incorporate a lot about the show and its influence on my life in my blog: www.jewelrybyjodizulueta.com.
SSN: Do you prefer one of the brothers to the other? If so, which one?
Jodi: I’m a Dean girl, lol! I love his tough guy facade that is so thinly veiled over an extremely caring, loving brother. I do have to say that I adore Sam as well. He’s incredibly insightful and a calming balance to Dean’s shoot first, ask later.
SSN: If you could be in ANY Supernatural episode, which would you choose and why?
Jodi: Oh I’m going to get in trouble for this…it would have to be Frontierland. Cowboy Dean – yee ha! Plus, my 8 year old’s name is Phoenix so it’s one of his favorite episodes too.
SSN: What one character would you love to see back on Supernatural?
Jodi: I wish Pamela was still around. She had a lot of potential.
SSN: How do you want the show to end?
Jodi: The boys need to have normal lives. For more than one year, and at the same time.
SSN: What other TV shows do you watch religiously?
Jodi: I used to be addicted to House when it was on, but nothing has gripped me like SPN. And the fans I’ve met also have a huge part in that. I’ve never met a group of better people. Very kind, supportive, smart, beautiful people.
SSN: Where can we find you on the Internet?
Jodi: I’m all over the place, lol! Ok, here I am:
Facebook: Jodi Silverman Zulueta AND www.facebook.com/EldwennesFantasy
And I have a Go Fund Me page – I’m trying to raise the funds I need to get to the other conventions and sell my jewelry. I’m offering gift certificates in higher amounts than what you donate – if you donate $20, you get $35 towards my jewelry. If you donate $25, you get $40. If you donate $50, you get $75, and so on. It’s the only way to get on my feet, so I’m hoping I can raise the travel expenses.
