SSN: How did you discover Supernatural?

Sonia: When my boyfriend & I were stopping to visit some relatives, they happen to be watching a TV show on about shapeshifters. Someone made a comment about shapeshifters not being real. I said that there are myths & legends about all types of shapeshifters from all over the world. The very next line from Dean: “Every culture in the world has a shapeshifter lore.” I was hooked (and yes-the fact that Sam & Dean are definitely easy on the eyes may have also had something to do with it)! Found out that they were watching season one on DVD, that season 3 had started recently, and that my Thursday nights would be booked.

SSN: What is your favorite Supernatural episode and why?

Sonia: So many great ones to choose from…If I can only pick one, I have to go with “Heart” from season 2, and not just because of the shirtless Sam scene. I thought the part after Madison wolfed-out on Sam when he & Dean are talking foreshadowed not only parts of season 2, but 3 and 4 as well.
DEAN: “I hate to say it. She’s a sweet girl, but part of her is-“
SAM: “Evil?”
DEAN: “Yeah.”
SAM: “Yeah, that’s what they say about me, Dean. So, me you won’t kill, but her you’re just gonna blow away?”
The ending always brings me to tears also. As soon as Queensryche’s “Silent Lucidity” begins I start welling up. Sam starts crying & so am I. By the time we get to Dean’s single tear, I’m a blubbering mess. I’ve seen this episode countless times & it still gets to me.

SSN: What is your least favorite Supernatural episode and why?

Sonia: This one is harder because even if I don’t think an episode is great, I can usually find something about it that I like. I guess my least favorite would be “Hammer of the Gods”. I think it was a missed opportunity-so much more could have been done with the legends of the individual gods. I also didn’t like that Gabriel was killed, but was glad he finally seemed to side with the Winchesters.

SSN: Who is your favorite villain?

Sonia: For a (nearly) single episode villain, I’m leaning toward the djinn from “What Is And What Should Never Be”. (I liked the twist they added for them in “Exile on Main Street” and it was cool to see the female djinn, Brigitta, again in “Caged Heat”.)

For one of the bigger bad guys…hmmm…Lucifer. Kudos to Mark Pellegrino (and Jared Padalecki) for making me love to hate him. (I think Crowley may pass him by, but right now I’m enjoying all the snarky “goodness” that is Crowley.)

SSN: How do you promote Supernatural?

Sonia: Mostly by just talking to people. I did work in a very small town library for several years and we had very few television series on DVD, but I made sure Supernatural was one of the ones we ordered every season. If someone was looking for something a little different, and I knew from their tastes in books or movies that they liked horror, sci-fi, vampires, etc. I would suggest the series as an option. Now some of the people I originally suggested the series to are getting their friends and family to watch!

Online I follow a number of groups on Twitter and Facebook and I have a number of sites like,,, and others bookmarked as favorites.

SSN: Do you prefer one of the boys over the other? If so, which one?

Sonia: Seasons 1-3 I was a total Sam girl. So I was very upset with Sam in season 4 and could really relate to how Dean was feeling in season 5 and was glad to see a much wiser Sam by the end of that season. Now I still lean a bit toward Sam, but Dean also has a special place in my heart.

SSN: If you could be in ANY Supernatural episode, which would you choose and why?

Sonia: Any one episode?!? Ahhh!!! Any episode that has the Impala or Sam or Dean in it would be just fine, but I have to pick one! Guess
I would pick “Frontierland”-Sam and Dean, plus Cas, Bobby, horses and Samuel Colt! I’m there! Maybe I could bring my own horses, Smoken & Charlie?

SSN: What one character would you love to see back on Supernatural?

Sonia: Would always love to see Pamela Barnes, Ash, Ellen and Jo Harvelle come back, but one that hasn’t returned (or isn’t anticipated to return) that I would like to see is Missouri Mosley from “Home”. Hmmm…maybe some sort of psychic connection between Heaven & Earth facilitated by a certain computer genius…

SSN: How do you want the show to end?

Sonia: Sort of open-ended with at least a little hope and happiness for Sam and Dean-that way maybe they could twist things up and break our hearts all over again with a Supernatural movie.

SSN: What other TV shows do you watch religiously?

Sonia: Religiously-none other than Supernatural. Occasionally I may catch Leverage, Law & Order, Grey’s Anatomy or whatever might be on when I have a chance to sit down. I will try to watch a show if someone from Supernatural is guest starring. Recently I caught an old episode of Cold Case with Rob Benedict.
